A bit of a delay.....4 years?

Wow, I was just reading about starting a Blog....went to "Blogger.com" (as it was recommended by a few folks), and found that I'd already started one....LOL!!!

Let's see, I guess I should bring things up to date a bit.....
We did get the RV....a 2000 Winnie. It is a 31' Class C, and very roomy. It just fits on the side of the house, and I have installed power and water connections near it, so it has become a great "Guest House".....but we really want to get out on the road.

We've actually only been out for two trips with it, and both were a few hours from home, but still interesting....and we've added a few more dogs to our original two Paps. We've got 8 dogs now, though I think we only had 5 of them, that went with us on those trips. Yes, they all sleep with us...LOL!!! It's a Queen mattress, but much smaller than the King we have at home!

Here is our set-up with the dogs containment area, at a campground at SeaLevel, NC
A lot has happened between the last blog post and today.....Claudia had her hip replaced, and we have a Grandson, MJ, who is almost 2 years old. He lives with us, so we're pretty busy :)

May as well introduce you to the Pack.....
You will notice that the Paps all have Liquor names, which we decided on, because they are all such "lickers"....and we love the word play.

Here are our first three Papillons, they were still puppies back when this picture was taken.
Sophie
was our first, so she doesn't have a liquor name, though she will "wine" when she wants to get up on my lap. She is my 'heart-dog'.
Abby (Absinthe) is a sweetheart, but is also known as "Crabby Abby" as she has little toleration for the other dogs at times.
Sophie and Abby are cousins, and came from a breeder near Atlanta, GA
Brandy was our third...coming from a breeder in Kansas. She is also a sweetheart.

This is Annie (L)....which is short for Anisette, which is an anise-flavored liqueur that is consumed mainly in France. She is our smallest dog, weighing in at about 2.7 pounds....but she's a scrapper....even if she gets run over by the others.
Kahlie (R)...for Kahlua, is the darker of the two.
She and her Sister, Annie, are Phalenes (drop eared) Papillons. She weighs about 3.5 pounds.
Tidbit: Phalene is French for "moth", while Papillon is French for Butterfly.
The "Twins" came from Nebraska.

Maggie
(aka Margarita) is a bundle of energy.....she is our
youngest, and the one who takes on all comers. She is our little doll-baby, and still looks like a puppy, even though she's full grown at over two years old.
She came from the same breeder that we got Brandy from, though they are not related

.

This is Beau....a Sheltie, and our first male, so the name fit.
Claudia has always loved Shelties, and still misses Cookie (RIP) who passed a couple of years ago.
Beau is a rescue, so we're not quite sure how old he his, but he's a lightweight...at about 7 pounds.
He's also the barker of the pack..it's a Sheltie thing.....

And here's..... Tugger.
He's a Papillon-Havenese mix
We originally got him for our Son, but he ended up with us, and has become Claudia's 'Velco dog'.
He has also bonded with out Grandson, MJ
Not as friendly to others as the Paps, but he's devoted to the family.

We have him clipped 2-3 times a year, or his coat gets knotted. Looks like a different dog doesn't he?

Finally, I have to add a picture of the joy of our lives.....young Michael.

We hope to do some camping with him and the dogs (though haven't decided if we'll bring the whole pack just yet) in the Spring. He's getting a bit bigger, and travels better.

Hopefully, it won't be 4 years between posts........Thanks for reading.

Happy New Year!!

The Adventure has yet to begin...

We have grand plans, Claudia & I. We want to travel around this beautiful country with our two Papillons, Sophie & Abby. We're in the process of getting an RV, but have yet to seal the deal on th Class C rig of our choice. We're close though!!

We have done quite a bit of traveling with our little "furbabies" already. They have been to Atlanta, down to Florida, and up to New York City. Those travels were in our mini-van.

We have plans to travel up and down the East Coast, seeing the sights, enjoying it with our little girls.

More later, as the adventure continues......
